I'm a 3rd year medical student who's interested in urology. I love being in surgery, but I'd also like to have time to interact with patients in a clinical setting, so in my eyes urology is the perfect mix of medicine/surgery. Unfortunately, I breezed through the first two years of medical school without applying myself academically until my clinical clerkships. As a result, my G.P.A. is b/w 3.0-3.5, I'm not in A.O.A., and my board score was only 213. I'm curious if anyone has any advice as to whether or not I have any chance at getting into a urology residency, and if so what kind of activities (research, externships, etc.) I should pursue in order to better my application and interview chances? Any reply is appreciated.
