Maybe this is already found somewhere in another forum, but I have found it extremely useful in some of the other specialties when residents have given their opinion as far as how programs compare nationally. As most medical students know, it can be extremely difficult to know strengths and weaknesses of residencies and how they compare to each other, especially before the interviewing process begins (when that information would be extremely useful). I therefore hereby propose that everyone with inside knowledge of urology pitich in their two cents and rank the "top tier," "second tier" and "all-the-rest" programs and give special emphasis to the lesser-known-but-great programs. Thanks everybody!

There is a TON of banter on this topic at www.urologymatch.com.

Uro Match has it's own forum where tons of applicants and residents have posted feedback about all of the programs. Every third post is about how programs stack up. That forum seems to be the center for uro postings and is much more active than the uro forum on SDN.

What's nice to know about uro is that there are only about 115 or so programs in the country so sorting it out is a little easier than some other specialties.

Thanks a ton Izzy - very helpful
