Due to the competitiveness of being accepted to optometry school in Canada, am I better off studying optometry in the US?

What are the differences, cost, quality, etc? Also, is it simply just writing the board exam in Canada once you decide to come back?

1. Cost is higher, way higher
2. Education is the same if not better due to increased scope of optometry in US. Given that you don't go to one of the newer schools.
3. Going back to Canada is straightforward, just pass the exam. I think some provinces don't even require that if you are licensed in US.

Cost is the major downside everything else is not an issue.
