Hi

Its amazing to see how IMGs are benefiting from this website.
I really appreciate the active participation of members. I hope I would get solution to my query as well.
I am an Indian Citizen graduated from Indian Medical School and hence, an IMG.
Recently, I got married to a Canadian Citizen and moved to Ontario (Canada) as a Permanent Resident.
I have been preparing for US exams and plan to do Residency there.
I have few questions:
1. Should I try getting Canadian voluntary experience (I know I wont be getting into hospital but I can get to work with family Doctors or Specialists) if it counts
2. Of course, I wont get Canadian citizenship in near time. What visa I should be trying for? Should I apply for J1 visa from India or Ontario(Canada)? My husband can move and get a job there before or after I move there. So, if he is there before me on TN visa, does that help me in any way. Is it easier to get J1 visa from India or from here and what about J1-waiver for both countries if I plan to do job in US. I am also open to coming back to Canada and work here if it helps in any way.
3. If I plan to come back to Canada, which residency should be good for me. I know Ontario needs family doctors (or, primary care ones).

Thanks in advance!
