USC Alternate List---Any News?

Has anyone who was placed on the USC alternate list heard any status updates (acceptance, rejection etc.)? I was told back in December that waitlist movement would likely happen after May 15th, but I wanted to see if anyone has heard anything anyway..Thanks!

I called last week, and I heard definitely no movement until after May 15.

They said the same to me. A friend got in last year by phone call a couple days after May 15.

I am also impatiently waiting to here from USC. Does anyone know if there is any truth to the fact that they say their waitlist is not ranked? I sent them a letter of intent this week hoping that might help. Anyone have any tips about how to get off the USC waitlist?

I think it's ridiculous that they say the list isn't ranked. I mean, what do they do, draw our names out of a hat? I believe that say that so that we don't pester them about our position in the list. Maybe thet assign us a score or something so we technically aren't "ranked". But we have to be ranked.

Just got my alternate list notification letter today in the mail. Also got an application packet from the American University of Antigua. How's that for irony? So is the general consensus that we will hear nothing until well after May 15th? This waiting business is so hard. Good luck everyone

Does anyone know what percent of people get accepted off the waitlist? I know that the overall number that are accepted post-interview is around 50-75% depending on the year (but that number includes those who came off the waitlist). Also, has anyone gotten rejected post-interview? I have only heard of acceptances and waitlists, which makes me feel like they put everyone they interview but don't accept on the waitlist. Any insights?

My premed advisor told me that last year Keck took about 40 students from the waitlist. Here's to crossed fingers.
