I don't know what to do with my situation. I called all the schools I applied to and they have recieved my DAT scores, except for USC. I called them thrice and got a different answer every time, in the same day!!! The first person I spoke to said my scores had not been recieved. So, I called ADA and according to them, USC has recieved my scores on Aug 28th.

So, I called USC once again, and that person could not even find my application...??? :scared: ( I told her that I had got their confirmation mail about getting my app. and check... and she had no answer to that..)

So, I called again after 5 mins, and that girl said they had my application, but not my scores. I told her what ADA said and she said its been really busy lately and lots of delays. I understand that, but this late is not good.
I am very worried, but don't know what else to do.. Anybody have any ideas? I expected USC to be better than this...

Oh, and hope I was clear about what I said... I am just very nervous right now and have no idea what to do...:scared:

Don't worry. USC must be able to download your scores soon. And it's still early in the cycle for USC hopefuls.

Thanks, that's what I was hoping for... I asked them that, and they said they need official reports... 🙁

Congrats on your interview though... You have great scores!!

I mean that the school can download an official score report online. The system has changed this year so that every school can electronically download the score reports. It only takes seconds.

Huh, that is weird. I called USC the other day too, just to verify that they also had my scores. A woman answered promptly.....I spelled out my last name.......and she pulled them up without a problem. Maybey they were just really busy???........or they typed your name wrong when listening over the phone?

USC will always be USC...

15 people in the admissions office. 2500+ applicants, Current dental student problems and orientations...

its a waiting game with them...

we just concluded our two-week orientation last friday, so the admissions office has officially move onto class of 2013. I believe they were just really busy with us the last couple of months, but I'm sure they can just focus on you guys now. good luck

I spelled my name and they confirmed my app. by asking my social too... so I know its the right one they are looking at...,
Just gotta keep calling USC and ADA back and forth.
Thanks everybody...

Ok. In that case, then I would look for your receipt from signing up to take the DAT, which will list the schools you chose to send to. If USC is on there, then I would call the ADA to see what happened. But also keep trying USC. Like BioMaxDDS said I'm sure they are really busy. For a time frame, I called on my lunch break, which was around 12:15 eastern time here, so it was probably early at USC.

I found out that they were having some trouble accessing the ADA score site... They are working on it, and should be resolved soon...

I thought ADA also mails out our scores to each school.. Or do schools just access them online now? What do they take 25 $ (per school) for then?

Okay, so I took the DAT in early August. I called the ADA recently, and they said my scores were made available to the schools on August 28. My status on the USC website has said 'DAT NOT RECEIVED' up until today, and I figured at first that it was because they weren't updating it and wasn't worrying. Today I finally gave in and called USC admissions (I should have done it sooner, I know) and they told me they hadn't received the scores, to call back in a few weeks. So I called the ADA again and they said there is no reason why USC shouldn't have my scores. So I kept playing phone tag and called USC back, and they said to call back ADA and ask them to resubmit my scores because they definately didn't have them. So I called back ADA again, and they explained to me the electronic portal and said that there is seriously no reason why USC shouldn't be able to get my scores, and if they are really having a problem to have USC call them (the ADA). So, I gave it one last try and called USC and talked to someone who said they run into this problem every year, that it's not true that the ADA can't resend my scores, etc., etc., and they absolutely do not have my scores because they just downloaded the most recent thing from the ADA portal but, oh wait, he can check one more time from a website, and lo and behold, they have my scores.

This is one of my top choices and all that has been holding my application back from being reviewed was the receipt of my scores! So hopefully now that they have them my file will be reviewed. I have my fingers crossed for an interview invite 🙂

I just wanted to put this out there for all of you. If you aren't positive that USC has received your scores, MAKE SURE THEY HAVE. I should have called them much sooner to resolve this.

rewJW....i've had the EXACT same problem with USC except I'm dealing with trying to get my Canadian DAT scores sent to them. I ordered them back in May, and have the receipt that they were sent, but the ppl told me they haven't got them. And the ppl at the CDA won't return my voicemails...its getting quite frustrating. looks like ill be dropping another 25 dollars to send them again 🙁

Ok, USC is now able to see my scores now. They told me when I called them today... So, don't fret it, call them again and make them check again...

It was funny to finally see the other end of these phone calls. I was in the admissions office at USC today and the phones were off the hook! "Yes we have you app," "Yes we have your updated address," "Yes we have your DAT scores," was all I heard constantly during my stay.

I'll admit, I was the one calling to double check everything last cycle, but now I understand why sometimes they weren't always that thrilled to answer my questions; They had already answered the same questions to the 300 students who called before me that day!

It was just a funny scene today and thought I should share.

I can imagine their frustration, but they must also imagine mine. I mean come on, it took 3 or 4 phone calls for them to suddenly magically find my DAT scores? But they swore a minute beforehand that they absolutely didn't have them? No other school has had a problem accessing my DAT scores.

I received a snail mail letter from them today that my app has completed initial review and they can't take further action until my official DAT scores are received. But this was sent before I talked to them and just took a few days to cross the country.

similar situation for me ... i login through the usc "check your status" website and it says "under review" and DAT received = YES and yesterday i got a letter in the mail saying that my application has been received but until my DAT scores are received my application can not be reviewed further. What should I do?

I'd say call them Monday. I got the same letter, and it's dated Sept 5 (although postmarked Sept 9), which is before I talked to them on the phone.
They probably sent it out before they realized they had your DAT scores.
