I just wanted to pass this bit of info along to whoever wants to apply to USC. I went to their info session today and got some good tips. One question that someone asked is how much the personal statement weighs in their applications. Basically, the lady that worked in admissions said that they definitely look at the essay questions in their supplemental application and rarely look at the personal statement essay question in the PharmCAS. She said that it is something that PHarmCAS requires for their application and that they rarely have time to look at it, but they do on rare occasions.

So i guess my point is to put more effort into the USC supplemental essay questions as opposed to the PharmCAS one. I am not saying that the pharmCAS ps is less important for all schools, but that is basically what was told to us at the info session today.

Also, be sure to send transcripts directly to USC even though you've sent it to PharmCAS.

That's all that comes to mind as of now, if i think of anything else that was said at the info session, i'll post it again. Good Luck

That's what I hear too!!

One mroe question though, how much weight did she say the application essay resposes carry?

As far as I can remember, I don't remember them addressing that question specifically, just that they look at the essay questions on their supplemental app more .

I wanted to add something else too. Someone asked about PCAT scores. They said that they have no set minimum for what they consider to be acceptible PCAT scores but they're looking into it. The tour guide told me they're starting to look into the PCATS and may require it (this is off the record unofficial stuff) But the USC people also said that the PCAT scores won't be held against you, unless you get a zero on your PCAT. Otherwise, PCATs now have very little weight and will not be held against you if you don't get the best score.

I wonder what other schools think about the PCAT that don't require it. anyone know?

One more thing, this affects Reapplicants. On the app, it says to only answer question 4 of the essay questions if you are a reapplicant. I personally wanted to improve my essay questions and asked if as a reapplicant, can we answer the other essay questions and she said we could if we chose to, it 's optional. I would rather do it to show I can write (or at least do better from last year) In any case, I don't know how many of you this affects, but just something to think about.

other cali schools & colorado that don't require the PCAT told me through email that the PCAT DO NOT HOLD ANY WEIGHT in the process. it won't be looked at at all.
