Yay! My first interview. A little nervous the interview dates are super soon!

Wednesday, Sept 23
Thursday, Sept 24
Tuesday, Sept 29
Tuesday, Oct 6
Thursday, Oct 8

I'm thinking about picking the latest one...hopefully that won't hurt my chances..
Just when I finished my last secondary and had a second to breathe, more stuff to worry about, regardless, I am super stoked.

I believe my application was in the second batch...

I'm on Wednesday sept 23. Gratz! Called in today after got their email at 4pm.

I have my USC interview Oct. 8th. I have another interview the following week as well at Midwestern...

You all probably know this, but you will not actually be interviewed at USC. If you can't speak English or are horrible in interviews, then congrats, but in my opinion, it kind of sucks. You will leave the school with them having learned NOTHING more about you, the prospective student. It is more for you to see the school and learn about the program (and how much it costs). The only quasi-personal attention you will get is during the mock study session they do. Still, you will be in a group of 8 people. If you can, stick around afterward and try to get an appt with someone in the admin office to answer any of the questions you have. Any face time is good. Good luck.

so the whole interview day is a tour?

If you don't like the dynamics of the mock group pbl session then you will probably not enjoy usc. that is enough information on whether or not you think the school is a fit for you.

so the whole interview day is a tour?

First, there is an orientation/info session. Then you observe an actual PBL group meeting with students. Then you actually participate in a PBL session with 7 other applicants. They do observe you there to see how you interact in a group, but don't sweat it - there is very little you can do, besides turning water into wine and/or pulling out a gun and screaming obscenities, that would change your standing in the order of acceptance. Just be courteous, try to involve everyone in your group, and don't sound like a *******. Then there is a tour, which is even optional, and then a lunch, and then you leave. The day is pretty pointless to me.

So are acceptances based on if you screw up that pbl session? How else can they weed you out based on the interview? Or is everyone accepted based on pre-december batches of interviews given out?

What day were you guys applications mailed out?

My application was sent out in the first batch, but my last letter of rec was sent out 9/8. So I am not sure where that puts me on the time line, but I got the email on 9/10 for an interview.

Anyone else on Oct 6th?

What are you all thinking on outfit choice? Do you still wear a suit even though there is no formal interview?

If the interview session is anything like real grading at usc, then you will either be given a grade of 3, 2, 1, or 0

If there is some system then those grades above convert to some numerical value and is added to your application score value and then you are ranked on a master list.

Yea, I'm going on Oct 6th. I'm still gonna wear a suit though.

Im october 6th as well and I would absolutely wear a suit.

Everyone wears suits, and it gets boring. Pop in with some medical scrubs to show them youre professional and not afriad to get away from the norm.

For the interview.... suit yes, scrubs no.
