Anybody here interviewing at USC please let us know what financial aid says at your interview since the government can only give out 200k in loans now which will only cover one year at USC.
going to tell us that you gotta pay to play 😊

There are private loan options. Banks will look forward to the opportunity

No bank is going to loan a 22 year old 500k compounding at 12% for a job that pays 120k. 6k a month for 25 years would be payment since IBR won't apply. That's inane. That's not even possible to pay for new grads. A bank won't do that. If they would, why would ANYBODY, actually take the loan!?

Why is it assumed to be compounding interest? I thought even private loans were simple interest.

Okay, let's say it's simple interest. That lowers it to 5.2k a month for 25 years of a private loan and then you need to add in whatever you have to pay for RAP for the federal loan. 5k+ a month for 25 years is not feasible. I've practiced general dentistry and can tell you this is not sustainable.

Right!! I've seen, on Reddit, people who applied late july and getting Kira, I applied June 18, submitted the secondary on June 26, and no news 🙁

I saw on reddit someone said that apparently they send out Kira's randomly and it is not dependent on the date your application was submitted. Hopefully they send more out in September and we get it!

Submitted July 17, received Kira yesterday.
Not sure what it means though. Not everyone who gets Kira is invited for an interview right?

According to previous years, the people who meet the min requirements get the Kira. But not everyone who gets the Kira is invited for an interview.

Sounds like they don't even know how dental students will pay for it... Pre-dents, please let us know what they say in the interview about how students will pay for USC.

I sadly don’t know how I could possibly afford this much debt since my parents are not paying for my school

I am from California, even my parents are willing to pay, I just want them to spend the money for themselves instead for my tuition. However, beside tuition, I love USC! I went there for undergrad, and we have a very beautiful campus! I still recommend people to consider our school if tuition is not too heavy for you.

out of curiosity, has anyone that's submitted Kira after 8/5 rcvd an interview yet?

Sorry guys for my weak English. I meant I went there for undergrad. It is a very good school, but I did not apply there for dental school due to financial consideration. I was trying to say if some applicants’ family is wealth enough to pay for the tuition for their children, it is a good school to go to.

Are they done with pre December Kiras? Did anyone get new interview invites or Kira assessments?
