I just received an invitation for an interview at USC on Jan 26th at 9:40am!!!!


I'm shaking already


Anyone else going to be there, you should let me know maybe we could chat and calm ourselves down!!

wow congratulations!!

I think I'm going to stay in a hotel the night before...and I only live in claremont/upland/ontario area...haha I don't want to risk being late and nervous the whole drive there!!

Do u mind sharing your stats? I am getting discouraged because I have yet to receive an invite.
 
BA in neuroscience
3.7 overall
3.6 pre-pharm
no pcat
~3 years hospital volunteer program
~3 years lab assistant
gamma beta phi, psi chi, golden key, peer advising, med trip to Costa Rica/Nicaragua with ISL

no experience as pharm tech or in retail pharm


applied to USC, UCSF, and UCSD

I don't think it was my gpa because a friend of mine was accepted last year with a 3.3

Did the school notify you by mail or email? And when did you apply? I only received their LACK letter so far

i know this is a bit off topic but i was just wondering....

so I applied to UCSD and UCSF as well, so considering I haven't received a letter yet, does this mean my interview with those schools will be AFTER USC's on jan 26th, or is there a possibility one could be before?

I'm not sure how much notice they give you before, thanks for the help in advance!
 
they notified me by mail, the date on the letter is nov 29th and I just received it today...good luck!
 
Are you all Tier 2 or Tier 3?

I read somewhere saying that they will try not to have the interviews on the same date.

So it could well be before USC for these two schools
 
Congrats Jessica! You have 6 weeks to prepare for your interview. Be sure to check out the Interview section here on SDN. Think about how you would answer some of the questions. Do you best to stay positive and relax. Be yourself above all else. I'm not suggesting you be arrogant, but act as if you're already accepted in the interview.

Thanks for the advice! I'm hoping that things will go great....I am just really scared of UCSF's interview!! (if I get one!)

I heard they are group interviews, is this true 100% of the time? geez I would assume they are harder in regards to stress level but who knows maybe they are more relaxed?
 
does anyone know if these are the first interviews for USC? Or were there already interviews at an earlier date?

Just wondering...
 
I submitted my PharmCAS and supplemental around the same time as you did. I live in North Cali. I'm hoping that I haven't received an invitation because of the distance:scared:

Does anyone know if UCSF hold group interviews still? On their website it says it is 2 on 1, but on sdn i have been reading it is group!

SPharmN: I'm sure that you didn't get yours yet because of the distance! Don't stress too much 🙂
 
I got an interview for the 26th at 10:25!! I can't believe I didn't check my mail until now... it has just been sitting in the mailbox all day long!

I'll be coming up from San Diego, and am thinking I will come up on Friday night, too.

I never received a LACK letter...in fact, I don't really even know what it is! 😎
 
so.. im wondering if 9:00am is the first interview?
Darn it.. I do not want to be the first batch~
oh well~
 
I received my bachelors in june of 07 so yes everything was completed by the time I sent in my application. I have had some time off school to work and save money and spend time with my family and just HAVE FUN before starting pharm school 🙂
 
...plus i would not have been able to keep a 3.7 during this stressful application & interview process

haha
 
wow yeah I don't see how you do it with all the stress...im mean, its do-able but just not something I would prefer to put myself through!

good job!

Is the lack letter the email that they send about the status of your courses?? I received that on 11/28, then the interview letter came on 12/1

yeah... that is very very fast.. I am still waiting... at the mail box 😉
 
where are you from? maybe it's because of the distance if you live further from the school than me! don't get discouraged yet 🙂
