According to the keck school of medicine website, there will no longer be pre requisites required for acceptance starting fall 16' does that mean there will be no emphasis on the BCPM science gpa?

Wait, what? No.

Prerequisites of the Keck School of Medicine

Applicants must have completed a baccalaureate degree, or its equivalent, from an accredited college or university prior to matriculation. Effective now, the school has no specific course requirements. Please see the MSAR for recommended coursework. Please discuss any coursework preparation with your pre-health advisor.

International applicants must hold a degree considered equivalent to a U.S. bachelor's degree as evaluated by the USC Office of Graduate and International Admissions.

Appears to be true?

I think they're getting ready for the new 2015 MCAT and are readjusting what will round out their new required courses.

Those requirements will be back in a few years.

Check keck school of medicine s website admissions

I already did read it because I'm applying there this application cycle.

I still think that the BCPM GPA is still factored into admissions decisions, and isn't completely omitted from the process. BCPM is still at least a factor in how well you can handle the rigor of medical schools' curricula.

I don't think they require volunteering or research. Unless your numbers are of the charts or you did something extraordinary, you will still need to have it. Same for science GPA. I am pretty sure if you didn't take a lot of science classes and you science GPA is poor - it is a red flag for them.
