Thanks for the advice so far and I can see that most of you recommend UCSF, but one thing I wasn't impressed by during my interview was the attitude of SF students had about the school. They didn't hate the school but they were far from loving it.
My tour guide during the interview, who also went to UCLA for undergrad, said if you like women, stay out of SF. He went on to tell me that most chicks, not only in UCSF but san fran in general, are hideous and don't wear makeup. I mean I am all about the environment and being natural but he said even at the bars and clubs they are disgusting. Basically, no comparison to all the beautiful ladies out in southern cali. And he went on to say that everyone is kind of boring around town and school because UCSF has no undergrad, strictly grad. Totally, opposite of USC!
And even though it is pass/fail it seemed like they were killing themselves. I already went to UCLA for four years so I know how it is to compete and I definitely want the opposite in dental school!
What are the exact price differences of the two schools. I have heard it comes out to a whopping $200g's less to go to SF! Thats like two years of work! Then I have also heard that living in SF is expensive. ???
I am going to visit this weekend to get a better idea of the area. It is wierd how San Francisco, though in the same state, is a like a completely different country from Los Angeles.
