He runs an esthetic selective team which 10-13 people get to participate in during 4th year. There is a 14 week lecture which everyone is allowed to attend followed by a clinical portion for two semesters. It has been one of the best experiences and I can't imagine having learned this much at another dental school. His knowledge of esthetic and bonded dentistry is immense and his treatment modalities are unique and conservative. His skill is amazing.
Dr. Magne is in itself a reason to pay the $400k for USC. He is the best thing about USC and has impacted me in a way that I cannot express. Working with him has opened up connections for me around the world. I would pay the money all over again in order to attend USC and work with Dr. Magne and his team. (I was in his Esthetic Selective)
A lot of Magne's techniques from Europe are being integrated into the regular dds curriculum. USC does bonded dentistry that most people/schools don't even know exist.

I'd much rather pay 100-150k for dental school at a state school and pay 50k+ over a few years to take his "over-the shoulder" aesthetic courses and supplement with Strupp, Pankey, and Dawson courses.
Even with mastership in many of those courses, you'd still come out cheaper than 400k+. Don't select a dental school just for one instructor, you never know if he/she will still be there in 2-3 years when you are ready to take their special course.
Mange's book is one of the finest dental books ever published. His skill is unmatched by anyone and I certainly am jealous if you have spent considerable amount of time with him.
