Hi. I don't know if this question was posted on here before. I did my searching and couldn't find it.

When I transferred from a community college to a university, one of my options was USC, but I ended up not going there. Anyways, when I transferred I heard that USC offers a program for premed students who apply to USC can get into. This program allows them to go straight to USC medical school after finishing their prereqs/major and maintain a gpa of 3.0 or above. I just want to know if this program still exists (if ever). Thank you.

Yes, it did exist, but I am 99% sure it was only open to incoming freshmen. Regardless, it's been disbanded (too many people were applying/matriculating elsewhere). We still have something similar for pharm school (TAP program), which is open to freshmen and sophomores.

Yeah, from the USC website:

"Thank you for your interest in our Baccalaureate/M.D. Program. Following an extensive evaluation, a University-wide decision has been reached to discontinue the Baccalaureate/M.D. program at the University of Southern California. We no longer have a program at USC which involves early or guaranteed acceptance to the USC Keck School of Medicine."

Oh so it did exist! And I'm not crazy haha.

Do you know when it was discontinued (what year)? Do you have a link to a page describing this? Thank you.

They've been grumbling about disbanding it since I was a freshman (2008), but I think this happened either last year or this year. I know students accepted into it for fall 2009, so either the 2010 freshmen or this year's freshmen were the last.

Tons of schools have these programs but atleast 90% are for freshmen. I know a few schools allow sophomores to apply as well though.

Do you have more links to these programs? I know the program at USC was both for Freshmans and transfers.
