Natural science internship as an allopathic pre-med student?

Would admission committees look down upon my taking up a natural science apprenticeship focused on learning earth skills, developing skills as an outdoor leader and teacher, and learning outdoor risk management? I plan on applying to med school within the next few cycles and do not know whether something else would be worth my time.

Need to see exactly what you mean here. Outdoor leadership and teaching/risk management skills are good (this was a large part of my med school application), but not sure what "earth skills" mean.

Only thing I would avoid here is if this "apprenticeship" turns into something that is naturopathic. That may not be well looked upon.
