Hi everyone,
In the coming weeks I will be forced to make the decision of attending either USC or NYU's dental school. I know this will be one of the biggest decisions I ever have to make so I am hoping some current students could help me out.

SOme questions I have is which program is better and why?? If you had to make this decision what school would you pick?? And any other helpful info you guys could give me would be greatly appreciated.. : )

BTW I currently live about 45 minutes from USC and I have never lived on the east coast before.

THANK YOU SO MUCH IN ADVANCE!!

Things to consider:

-East coast vs West coast

-Traditional lecture curriculum vs Problem Based Learning

USC has taken a lot of heat recently (by their own students no less) for some problems they were having regarding PBL and getting chairtime in years 3 and 4. i heard that there were some much needed changes coming down that would resolve many of these issues. being from cali, i'd consider going to USC so i can practice in cali straight outta school, and if you have family there you could save on living expenses; NYC is crazy expensive to live.

you can go to nyu and practice right outta school, if you are from cali.

you just got to fly your family/patients out to NYC to take the WREB unless you are able to find some in new york.

The OP would probably be able to find plenty of patients right at school if he/she chose to attend NYU. That's the beauty of taking your regional licensing exam right at your own school. This would not be the case if NYU did not offer the WREB on-site. The OP would then have the option of flying patients out to wherever he/she ended up taking the WREB (like I would have had to do had I chose Michigan).

had to make the same decision last year. chose NYU. no regrets here. fairly easy decision seeing that the only downside to NYU is cost, and both USC and NYU cost about the same

A bunch of people take both the WREB and NERB here -- covers you for 45 states I think?

NYU's a good school. Tons of opportunities, new clinics, great faculty. I'm happy here.

Hi....I have the choice of taking wreb either at USC or at University of Texas-Houston. USC would be cheaper for me but I heard about people unexplainingly failing the test...Anyone have thoughts about this?? Please help!!!!!
