I'm excited that I got accepted into Western & USC, but I'm torn about which school to choose.

After getting my PHARMD I hope to work in public health or hosp pharmacy.

They both have their pros & cons....should I save a little money & just attend Western?

:scared:

i'd imagine that usc has better connections and networking for the type of fields that you're interested in working in after you get your degree (although i can't say for sure)....

What do you mean you can save money by attending western? From what I know, their (USC and Western) tuitions are almost same ~32k??? Anyway, if I were you, I would go with USC. I just like the school better 😛 Too bad!!! I couldn't get into USC. Sigh~~ Anyway, good luck on your decision :luck:

Western just raised their tuition. ~34K now. At least, thats what it said in the letter I got on Friday.

definitely usc, they have a lot better rep post graduation than western, and yea, they have better connections, ranked higher, more established? thou their class size seems too big, but most ppl like the school.

Sorry to say this but USC tuition is about $42k a year, not 32k. And that doesn't include housing, books, etc. But they do have much better networking connections. I heard a statistic that stated something like 80% of pharmacists in southern california went to USC.

Yea you are wrong about the tuition part. I think you were looking at the cost of Books and Supplies, Room and Board, Personal/Miscellaneous, and
Transportation

Well, according to the above two links, it looks like USC is still more expensive. And I would expect it to be since it's a private school after all.

But if I had to choose between the two, I'd choose USC.

If tuition is 42K, I think the school will be sending me a $10,000 bill soon 😀

yeah if you live at home, the total amount is less than 40k. tuition alone is 32k. if you live on campus or in apt, i think its about 50k? i'm not sure about the last one, but from my experience, (i live in an apt) you can survive with just 40k. especially if you work...

ok, if we are just discussing basic tuition, western and usc are about the same. Of course go to USC!!!! (but i am biased 🙂
