Hey guys,

Any of you gone to the prior USC welcome receptions? I am contemplating whether to go on the 30th of June. Just wanna know was it helpful or critical to go to. Thanks.

You should go... if only to meet fellow students and school faculty. Besides the meet & greet, I found the breakout sessions helpful in finding answers to random personal questions. Food was good. It's free. Other than that, I wouldn't say it is "crucial" to attend. If you have the time, why not?

I'm pretty sure my friend and I will be going. So hope we'll see you there! I believe there was also a reception last month but I missed that one. I'm gonna really try to make it to this one. Go if you can!

I'll be participating in some of the info sessions so please come by. I'm the level II vp and pledge coordinator for LKS, so come and hit me up for details. Look forward to seeing all of you. These ppl know how to party so enjoy!!!

thanks for all the info...anyone bringing parents?

my mother is coming...proud and all 🙂 I think she just wants to see the school...

I'm coming with JoPharmD and bringing both of my parents so hope to see you there. I hope its worth it.

so how was the welcoming reception?

The program was a series of speakers lauding the merits of the school and how great they are (inevitably). I think the best pieces of information I left with were that I shouldn't work in the first year and some of the organizations available. I did get a chance to meet with some of my future classmates, so that was nice.

The welcome reception was great. Unfortunately, I can't remember who I spoke with so I proably met some sdn peeps and still don't know it. SC goes to pretty good lengths to make you feel welcome, so I'm glad that I was able to to be a part of it. It makes me wish I went to my welcome reception. I rmember there was some lame time conflict so I couldn't attend.

It was mucho cool bc the two ppl that I interviewed and gave the most favorable evaluations were in my break out group. It made me feel all happy that the system works. And, it restores some faith, but also is not so fun, that the ppl that I wasn't so high on when they iv'd were not there, but that doesn't necessarily mean they werren't accepted but rather, weren't there.

The student leadership, which I take the liberty of considering myself part of, is definitely movers and shakers so it should be an exciting year. We shall see.
