Hello,

I recently got accepted to USC. I was in the process of reapplying and retaking my DAT's when I got the acceptance. I am really happy I got in, but wanted to look at all my options since its a very expensive school and its PBL.

Let's say I dont accept their offer, does that mean that if I reapply no other dental school will accept me next cycle since I have already been accepted (what people have been telling me)?

I am pretty sure I am going to accept the offer, but just wanted to see if I have any other routes I can take.

Any advice? What would you do?

congratulations. if SC is the only school you got accepted to, then you should go there. I guess the other route is to not accept, and reapply to your #1 choice. But its pretty tough to get into dental school. I wouldn't take the chance.

Didnt you hear, you will only have PBL twice a week which is 1/3 less than before and you will get other supplemental lectures. The new dean doesn't like PBL and with all the changes going on at USC, it's amazing.

don't throw away an acceptance unless you really don't want to go there (or if you really can't afford it)

Don't risk it. All you will be doing is wasting a year and may not even be accepted next year; or you may end up at another expensive school like NYU or BU next year and wasting a year. At least you get to stay in balmy California.

Remember rejecting your offer would mean you have to sit out an extra year which means you would start earning a salary a year later most likely costing you over $100,000. You barely got in this year, you may never get in again, wouldn't you kick yourself forever if you never got in to dental school again and you rejected a chance to go? It gets harder to get in every year.

you shouldn't have applied there if you wouldn't go there even if you didn't get in anywhere else. don't be a fool. go to USC. you'll like it.

Thanks all!

I've always wanted to go to USC, but with all the bashing I have been hearing got me second guessing and scared.

I am going to send in my deposit tomorrow and not be stupid

Thanks again

Dont judge USC because of a few bitter students who come on here and bash on their school. I know and have met a lot of people that go to USC dental and I am getting real opinions, which is why i chose USC over so many other schools. It was literally my top choice, even though it has a bad rep on SDN(which i dont care about) and is expensive(which i do care about).

And i have to add that it would have been pretty *****ic for you to let that acceptance go!

You guys will have a brand new curriculum so whatever anyone has ever said on SDN should be thrown out completely.

do you happen to know the changes occuring other than PBL only being twice a week?

REally? Do you know this for fact? More lectures would be great.
