So I am currently filling out a secondary application that asks "what is my most significant achievement outside the classroom?" and I was wondering if using EMT certification would be a valid answer? I realize it was a "class" that I took, but seeing as it does not pertain to my undergraduate career would it work? It ended up being a very large commitment and I am definitely proud of completing it.

I used "summiting K2" but, yeah, EMT certification probably works there too.

That's fine.

Did you end up working as an EMT or using the certification at all? If so I think that is probably more interesting to talk about, and you can also include something about the process of getting the certification and achieving your goal.

If not, I think it's okay to use getting the certification as an achievement, but I would tie it into what you accomplished WITH the certification if you can.
