Hi everyone! I received my acceptance letter to USF in the mail today! I am so excited. I was sent a letter on 2/2 stating that I was on the waitlist. They received my response to remain on the waitlist on 2/4 and on the same day they mailed out my acceptance letter!

I have not accepted the offer yet. I am from Boston and wish I could see the campus before accepting but I don't think I will be able to.

I have submitted a deposit to another school but I would much rather go to USF. Is it proper for me to contact the school I sent the deposit to and withdraw my acceptance?

Has anyone else been accepted to USF? Can any current students provide some insight on what they think about the program? Thanks!

Hi! I am also on the waitlist currently, I have a question how did you find out when they received your form to remain on the waitlist? I was debating on calling and asking how the waitlist was arranged and asking where I was on the list.

As for the other school, yes, respectfully decline their offer when you finally decide!

Did you send via certified mail..? You should get a tracking.

I knew when they received my form because I sent it certified and got a tracking number from the post office. I received an email alert when It reached the University. I think calling them to find out where you stand on the wait list is a good idea... It can't hurt! Best of luck!

I'm hoping I get it in!! This is my top school! I send my form out February second but for some reason they finally received it yesterday, which I'm not sure why it took so long. Are you choosing USF over the other school you got accepted too?

Well best of luck to you! If you were qualified enough to get wait listed then you have a good shot at getting accepted! Yes I plan on accepting USF's offer over the other school I was accepted to! Have you seen the campus? If so what do you think of it?

Thanks I really appreciate it! And no I have not! I'll be in Florida, visiting family during spring break so I definitely would love to go check out the school especially if I get accepted!

I was accepted into USF! This weekend I actually went down to Tampa and visited the campus and received a tour of the facility.

So here is what I found:
The school is located in a smaller and older building on campus but the inside is very nice an newly renovated, and it's much bigger than what the outside makes it look like. They had a ton of really nice research equipment and the lecture PT rooms were very nice. Each sits 48 students and has nice technology features so they can connect to the UWF campus. (Some classes are lectured by a professor at the University of West Florida.)

Since the program integrates you into the med school, the entire first year will mostly be spent at USF's med school which is just a short walk from the PT building. The facility there is very nice. They have a huge lecture hall, library, 24/7 gym, a bunch of study rooms and tons more over there.
The rest of USF campus is VERY NICE, its pretty big and filled with beautiful palm trees, fountains, and live oak trees. The marshall student center has tons of different food options and is a really nice area. There were tons of green space for intramural activities, which I know a lot of the current PT students participate in. The sun dome looked brand new and the entire campus was very well kept.

The surrounding area if filled with student apartments (mostly geared towards the undergrads). The ones that the Grad students are living at are just a 10 minute commute away. Or the IQ apartments which are right across the street from the med school. There are tons of stores and shopping areas around USF and plenty of places to eat. Downtown tampa is maybe twenty minutes away (all depends on traffic) and is a BEAUTIFUL AREA, if anyone gets the chance to go down there you must ride down Bayshore Blvd. Tampa was amazing. There was tons to do while we spent the weekend! We visited parks, went to the beach, and rode all around the area checking this place out and the apartments.

I fell in love with the area, and the school was very nice and seemed to have a lot to offer. I was accepted into three schools: USF, UAB, and Brenau University. With that being said, I have decided to attend USF for PT school and can't wait! I felt like the location and the med integrated program at USF just made the whole place worthwhile.

If anyone gets accepted or is accepted let me know!! Can't wait to meet all you future bulls!

Hi I have been wait listed! Were you wait listed first or accepted first and when did you hear? Thanks for the great information!

I was accepted first. I was told maybe the end of January like the last few days. I don't remember the exact day right off the top of my head.

What were the stats of those of you who got acceptances?

Stats:
GPA: 3.7
Hours 1200+ working as a PT aide in outpatient and 45 hours in inpatient
Major: Exercise Science
Extra Curricular: 300+ hours in volunteer work, soccer ref, co-authored a research study in undergrad
References came from pt's that I work with

I'm also out of state from Alabama

Hi! I got accepted to USF as well a few weeks ago and I have been weighing my option and deciding which school to go to. I think I've finally decided on USF! I am from NJ, and have close family friends who live in Venice, FL just about an hour from Tampa. My mom and I visited USF over Thanksgiving weekend, as well as 3 other Florida schools, and USF was my favorite campus by far. I originally wanted to go to Emory in Atlanta, GA but decided USF was a better fit for me. I am so excited to start classes in August and meet everyone! Do you know if there is a Facebook page for our class yet? I can't seem to find one. Looking forward to hearing from you soon! 🙂

And as for stats, here are mine:

Overall GPA: 3.78
Pre-Req. GPA: 3.72

Extracurricular: Gymnastics Club Secretary, Holistic Health Club Vice President, Health Science Club, Pre-PT Club, CARE Program Mentor (I help students receive their degrees who have low GPA's and no financial aid), CARE Program Tutor, Habitat For Humanity, Special Olympics Volunteer, Volunteer in Bi-Annual Days of Service at my undergrad school, Dean's List for 5 consecutive semesters, Alpha Lambda Delta Honor's Society

Work: PT Aide, Auntie Anne's Pretzels Cashier, Express Sales Associate, Dairy Quick Ice Cream Server

Volunteer: 537 Hours total; 148 un-paid in sports rehab, 220 paid in sports rehab, 42 in geriatrics, 63 in an elementary school setting, 64 in neuroscience inpatient hospital

I was put on the waitlist first before being accepted to USF. I was waitlisted on 2/1 and accepted 3 days later on 2/4. Let me know if anyone has any questions about stats or USF's program, as I am currently in contact with one of the current 2nd year DPT students there through Facebook 🙂

I think I am in contact with the same guy! (Austin?) I haven't heard of a facebook page being started yet. I emailed them saying I would make one but no one ever got back with me.
