I'm in my senior at UF. Quality ECs, mission trips, all the necessary LORs.

cGPA: 3.5ish
sGPA: 3.3ish
1st MCAT: 26Q

I applied this cycle and have gotten some DO interviews, but no acceptances as of now. I'm just trying to get my stuff in order if I don't get in this cycle. I'm wondering if the USF msms would be a good option. My biggest question is if I retake the MCAT and get 30 (which is what I was averaging on my practice exams. Hate that exam ha) or up and then do well in the USF masters if that would give me a shot at some MD programs. Particularly ones in FL (UCF, FIU, FSU, USF...)

I appreciate any help guys. I apologize if I didn't need to create a new thread but I wasn't 100% sure where to post. Thanks!

much like me in your position a year ago, you have an OK gpa, and a shoddy MCAT. why not finish out this year, taking minimal, yet hard upper level bios...like 12-14hrs/semester, making sure you get A's...study over winter break 10-14 hrs a day for the MCAT...keep studying over spring as much as possible...once school finishes, take another month to do 10-14 hrs a day again for the MCAT, then take it. of course, turn in AMCAS/letters of rec june 1st next cycle, and then schools only need to review your mcat. of course i hate this schedule and wouldnt do it personally, but if youre dead set on applying next year, do it... other wise i would

finish out this year, take 16-20 hours upper level bios (yea it'll suck but its worth it)...stay as an undergrad next summer/fall, and pack as many upper level bios/chem/physics into your sched as possible while still confident you can make an A given the workload, then next graduate fall semester, and spend spring studying MCAT like crazy until late april/may, take MCAT, and do volunteer/shadowing all the while. then you would be a legit candidate. but FYI, i have 4 interviews so far and only had a 3.35 sGPA and 3.53cGPA, but had a 35R mcat. best of luck
