Hi guys, I've read some not so flattering things about the University of South Florida program on scutwork.com http://www.scutwork.com/cgi-bin/links/review.cgi?ID=1128&d=1. The last review is from 2006 and says there's lots of politics at the program and residents who complain get retaliated against. They also have a very call heavy PGY1 year. Can anyone who knows about this program shed some light on this? Thanks!

Edit: found this thread: http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=789409 on SDN about USF. Sounds like some people interviewing there in 2011 got some strange vibes (ex. PD was late to interview, residents weren't around). I'm getting concerned and thinking about canceling my interview. Anyone else have any insight into this?

I'd heard similar things last year and gave up on them. I'm not sure that it'd be a "bad" place to train, but it's probably not a great place. If you're in need of backups and have a strong reason to want to be in Tampa, which is a great city (lived there for a few years), give it a shot...otherwise, maybe pass...
