USF smp programs

is anyone currently attending or has attended the USF masters programs which are geared towards medical school applicants. I'm not a FL resident but I was interested in the program since it sounds interesting. i know florida schools show a strong in-state preference but is this program a feeder into USF med school like tulane/evms or do people get into out of state medical schools? thanks!

Does any one know how hard it is to get into their One Year Master of Science in Medical Science program?

I am deciding whether to wait an apply next year or not. I want to know how competitive the actual program is. By the end of next year I will probably have a 3.2 - 3.3 cGPA/sGPA and an MCAT above a 27. Would I be considered a competitive candidate?

Your GPA and MCAT are definitely competitive. The average GPA is a 3.4 and average MCAT is a 24, so your scores seem to counterbalance each other. I have heard of people getting in with lower GPA's and MCAT scores combined than yours are. The only thing is that Florida schools really do prefer in state residents. I'm not sure how many out of state they accept or how greatly this will affect your chances. Good luck!

Hi, I'm in the very early stages of looking at SMPs and so far USF is the one I'm leaning towards the most. Unfortunately, there isn't that much info about the program online with respects to success rate, and acceptances into med school after completing it. So PLEASE if anyone can PM me any type of info about it or personal experience I would really appreciate it!! Thanks
