Hello all,

I purchased a copy of Dr. Collin's 2011 study guide with updates up to fall 2012 from another member here on SDN. I didn't realize how much the PCAT blueprint changed since then, especially for the biology section.

To better prepare for the PCAT, should I purchase an updated 2014 guide? How much would that actually benefit me? Can anyone compare the 2011 and 2014 guides? If I do decide to purchase an updated guide, I would most likely purchase it from the official site, unless I can find a reliable seller elsewhere. How much would I be able to resell it for?

Or should I simply purchase a 2014-2015 Kaplan book to cover the missing biology material?

Thanks in advance.

I bought dr collins 2012 version with 2012 and 2013 updates.
Hoenstly, did not even use the updates.
With that 2012 version + Kaplan PCAT book 2014 (ONLY FOR BIO, yes this covers pretty much every bio)
I still manage to do well (93 composite)

so I guess do not waste your money on getting 2014!! (unless you really want to cover everything?) Also you mentioned it is hard to find reliable seller. Maybe you too have hard time selling them? idk..
Do not worry about bio and chem updates things. They just added paragraph questions (2 passage 4 q's each)
These are just experimental sections. I just skipped them and come back later when i had time lol

Thanks, for your input.

I went ahead and purchased Kaplan's PCAT book. Let's hope I have time to go through it. I like how Dr. Collin's is to the point, whereas Kaplan seems to go on forever about a specific topic.

i kinda feel like kaplan bio section isnt toooo specific though. just read couple times and take notes and you should be fine!
