What do you guys think about using the Exam Krackers MCAT Prep book to study for the DAT. I have been using it and it has been helping me out..I just want to see if anyone has an opinion about the prep book..

It seems like it would have some value for studying for the sciences certainly and RC to a somewhat lesser extent... as long as you supplement it with other tools to study for non-MCAT sections (QR, PAT), it should work.

I'm a premed with the examkrackers book. I don't know about dat studying with it, but it has worked as a great summary for many of my classes. I use the general chemistry for a more down to eary explanation, or the bio for physiology. It has helped a lot with that. People swear by them, but I can't picture using it as the definitive study source. Seems like it is leaving stuff out.

I find the EK material for the sciences to be very condensed, meaning that if it's been awhile since you took a class, the EK books won't be good enough to teach you the material. They are only a refresher. The bio book has good info on a&p systems, and the 1001 questions series is good practice. They are very well written, just realize that you might need to fill in the gaps with other material since some stuff isn't mentioned. For instance, I seem to recall the bio book didn't have info on evolution. Don't remember for sure though. HTH

Why is passage from MCAT so different from that of the RC of DAT? what really seperate the 2 test reading comp? I just purchased the examkrakers reading comp.. and I am trying to figure out how much different it is...
