Has anybody used Interfolio to store their letters of rec? I've been thinking of using it because I will be taking a year off after I graduate from undergrad next year before applying to pharmacy schools, and want to get LORs from professors before I leave.

Do all schools accept Interfolio? Would you recommend using it? Also, I'm not really sure how the letters of recommendation work. Do the professors just write generic letters not aimed toward any specific school, if I'm applying to multiple schools?

Thanks.

Your references have to personally submit all LoRs to Pharmcas and I believe they fill a short questionnaire. Schools will only accept LoRs that come from PharmCas unless stated otherwise. Make sure your professors do not specify a certain school so keep it general as possible.

If the school(s) you are applying to participate in PharmCAS, I dont think you will be able to do that. LOR have to be submitted by your reference. PharmCAS will send them an email, they fill out the questionnaire, and submit it electronically. The name of the school should not be mentioned in the letter of reference.

I had been thinking of using Interfolio before I applied, but I ended up not doing so. I did some research beforehand, but don't quote me on it. I believe that PharmCas ends up sending a form for Interfolio to fill out - PharmCas does accept it, if I am remembering correctly. The process is a bit different & I remember that PharmCas somewhere said they prefer LoR to be sent directly to them, but it should be accepted.

But, just make sure your teachers/pharmacists/whoever don't date the letter (ask them not to/tell them you are applying to pharmacy school next year), because it would look odd when the pharmacy school reviews it in 2014 and it is dated 2013.

Absolutely do not do this. PharmCAS has their own system for letters of recommendations. Secondly, schools sometimes contact professors, and they would have forgotten about a letter written a year ago.

Have your professors write generic letters. That's how PharmCAS processes it.
