I am wondering how many people have used AAMC's "Topics for Biological Sciences Secion of the MCAT" as a study guide? It seems like a good layout and just fill the definitions as one travels down the sheet?

So, if anyone has done this or is willing to comment, please do so!

My two cents:

It wouldn't be a bad idea to do that. It's a little amorphous though, so you might end up learning more or less than what you really need, but I would think it would be a fine way to study, and it would be good to err on the side of learning more than you need to know.

Keep in mind that some topics not listed on there will show up on the MCAT. I think fetal circulation, for example, is not listed on there but has made appearances on recent MCATs.

I'm currently going over EK biology. I'm using Campbell to fill in the massive amount of information they lack and I'm checking the AAMC syllabus to make sure they didn't miss any topics (they have).

Fetal circulation? What the heck is that 🙁

Guess I'll have to pick up a Kaplan book.

Yeah. Seriously, pick up the Kaplan book. It's more or less a pain in the ass to get through but it covers the topics and then some... better to be safe than sorry.
