Hi, I am 4rth year medical student... and i am planning to give Usmle step 1 exam by the end of year 2012. Is it tooo late to start my preparation???

Just in case you're not a troll, most american grads study for 4-6 weeks in a dedicated way. I'd say if you're far removed from basic sciences, 2-3 months should be plenty.
With a year of dedicated studying you should aim for a 350.

The OP might not be a troll after all: I give him/her the benefit of the doubt. He/she might be an IMS and, if that is the case, a typical international med school is usually a 6 to 7 years program where the first 4 years are basic science and the remaining clerkships.

Just saying!!!

Thus, OP, if you are an IMS and complete all of the basic science classes, yes you could take the Step 1.

thnx everyone
