Is there any way to REQUEST and PAY for an extension online?

I know about the extension request pdf file, but that needs to be mailed in.

I believe I did the original usmle step 1 application and payment online.

I extended my USMLE online for free (twice I think). I don't see why this would be a problem unless you're trying to extend into the next testing period or you're within the window (48 hours?) that you're not allowed to change the date.
