Do we have to put our step 3 attempts on the ERAS application if we took it? I don't want to put it on there because I haven't passed yet. Do we have to? I'm wondering as step 3 is not a requirement for residency in most places.

Also I'm curious, will a program look down on you for not passing step 3 even though it isn't a requirement?

Thanks!

Theoretically, you should list all step attempts on your application. Anything less could be considered fraud. Whether you need to list scheduled future steps is more vague.

Not passing Step 3 is certainly not going to help your application. Your prior posts have suggested that you other step scores are not stellar, and that you've now been out of residency since 2004-5 (or something like that). Doing well on Step 3 would show that you've moved beyond your problems with Steps 1/2. Failing it only reinforces the issue.
