Hi, all. How important is taking Step 3 before the beginning of the application cycle for Pathology residency? Does having a passing score on your Step3 grant you more interviews especially for non-US IMGs.

Any ideas on how we actually submit it to ERAS? I got my score last week and passed on the first attempt. I am a US-IMG, do they obtain the score from FSMB? NBME? It isn't required for ECFMG certification, so it won't likely be obtained from them.

Many programs will not rank IMG's without a passing step 3 score. For those that will rank it is seen as a red flag to not have passed step 3 before applying.
