Here is the simple link to see if you can take Step 3 in a particular state right now or have to wait a certain period (e.g. X months of internship). Hopefully it was easy to find this thread based on the title than searching through a slew of posts.

OK, I know this has been mentioned here before, but just because you use one of these states' requirements to sponsor you sitting for Step 3 does NOT mean you have to take the actual test there NOR do you have to be planning on applying for licensing there, right? I'm always confused about this...

For example, I can register for the test in Connecticut, take it in Florida, and eventually get licensed in Illinois?

just wanted to reconfirm that i checked this as well, and yes, another vote for 'yes, it's true' (sounds too good to be true, doesn't it?! it's silly).

just wanted to check on this myself thanks for the posts! I didn't finish my intern year this year (as some of you may have remembered) but I had planned on taking step 3 this spring regardless. Currently in NJ, sitting for CA boards (no residency requirement) going to do residency in OH, and hoping to eventually get back home to CA.

thanks for the info.
