Hello

I'm an IMG and currently in my first year residency in IM
I had plans regarding applying for the USMLEs and continuing in the states, but I had a setback during my preparation for step 1 last year, so I didn't take the exam prior to my residency and now I'm caught up with my residency schedule, but I still want to get it done with step 1 since I have studied somewhat a good amount for it . I'm left with biochem, microbiology ,behavioral sciences, few systems like neuro/musck/endo and few pharma topics.
Now, the question is whether someone went through similar case and what are your advises guys? Do you think it is still possible?

regards,

It all depends on how rigorous your residency program is. Most of us have no experience of residency programs outside the US other than vague stereotypes.

Everything is possible...if you really want to do the exam & succeed in it you will...try to search the web for similar condition as yours & build the most suitable plan for your situation...
in worse cases....Consider holding your residency if you find it very difficult to study while doing your residency!! if this option is available to you in your program.
All the best to you....

It all depends on what your target score is. If your shooting for the 220's, its achievable. But now if your looking to go 260+, that's going to be a very very different question.
