Usmle Test Taking Timeline

I've been doing research and have had some conflicting reports. Can somebody please help me! I just want a nice simple timeline of when exactly one takes step 1, 2, and 3, and what each one in a quick sentence or two, tests on. (and which one the admissions officers see when applying to residency). Thanks.
