Hi guys! I'm a rising senior in HS going to apply to colleges next year. I've been to SDN Aspire but I thought this place might give me more insight on UT's Plan II program.

For those of you who know what Plan II is about, do you think it's worth it to spend 4 years as undergrad (as a biochem major) to get my degree in both Biochemistry and Plan II?

Otherwise, I would be applying to Pharmacy schools after 2 years, with no degrees whatsoever.

The thing is, Plan II is serious about taking your time to complete their 4 years program, thus it is either 4 years or nothing.

I guess my question is, "Is Plan II worth it?" Thanks for any suggestions!

(Moderators, if I'm really really really not allowed to post here, feel free to move my thread 🙂.)

It ultimately depends on what you want to do in pharmacy. If you just want to work retail or in the hospital, but not part of the medical team then I would just complete pre-reqs and apply. If you want to do research, teach, or work on the medical team doing rounds then you may want to get a degree in biochem. If you didn't already know this, you don't have to have a degree to get accepted to pharmacy school. But the decision truly lies with you and where you want to go in pharmacy. Try researching the different areas of pharmacy available today and what is going to be coming up in the future. See if you can observe those areas that interest you to start formulating a plan of what you want to do.
