Anybody know any information about the UT Galveston program post Ike? Do you think they will take residents this year?

Don't know anything but they want $600 million to fix UTMB. I'm just going to keep my app in to simmer for a bit.

Galveston is a resilient city. I suspect they will be back. They all need our thoughts and prayers just like New Orleans got.
If you have never read about the 1900 storm, do a little search on it.
To UTMB, our thoughts and prayers from the rest of the country.

After Katrina, I was exiled for nine months to Galveston for most of my MS3 year. I'm a hurricane magnet, I guess.

So it sucks to see them going through this, however miserable I found living in Galveston to be.

It'll be interesting to see just how they execute this as far as UTMB's med school and residency programs. Hopefully everything works out for the best for those displaced.

Hey, it looks like UTMB will be up in the next 4-8 weeks.
Most of the anesthesia residents have moved to multiple training sites across texas.

Hopefully it will all be resolved in 2 months.

Not sure about the interview situation...Likely your interviews will be delayed.

Still, it is a phenomenal anesthesiology program....
