Has anyone that recently interviewed at Memphis heard anything? My interview was on February 9th, and I still haven't heard anything. What about you guys? By the way, anyone else interview on the 9th?
I interviewed a week after you. It seems like the adcom meeting for feb. already took place, some people recieved acceptances on the 10th. They told me they'd meet again in early march. I interviewed with 5 arkansas residents, I was the only in-state. How many instate people were at your interview?
There weren't that many in state applicants during my interview either. Best I remember there were like 9 of us and 4 of the people there were out of state. Anyway, Dr. Coleman said they would be meeting within 2 weeks, and if we hadn't heard anything by the first of March to call him. I'll definitely be calling Thursday if I still haven't heard anything.
Interviewed with you Belmont...I am one of the Arkansas applicants. Haven't heard anything as of yet but still optimistic!?! UT is definitely the place I want to be but the waiting game is torture. You don't have to worry about competing w/ any AR applicants as we already have only a designated number of seats (18). Good luck on acceptance! We should hear something either way pretty soon.
I hardly ever hear about this school from other out-of-state pre-dents. Could you please tell me what makes this school awesome compared to, say, Tufts or UAB, i.e. common d-schools often mentioned on this board?
Do you guys know how many Arkansas applicants there were? Seems like the interviews were saturated with Ark residents. I interviewed in late Jan. and there were quite a few there. Also, are there certain quotas for the various Arkansas schools? Seems like the Jonesboro kids were all pretty close knit (does that play a factor?)
There were well over 100 applicants from AR this year. I don't think their are any quotas by school, but I do think the school you come from does play a factor. And just FYI...as of today, there are only 5 of 18 spots still open for Arkansas residents and the final admissions meeting is March 29.
I was wondering where you got this information from? I called at the end of january and they said that there was about 64 or 65 applicants that applied from Arkansas. How do you know that there is only 5 slots still open.
I don't know about you guys but I really need to hear something soon. I'm about to go CRAZY!!! Think it would be bad to call on the 30th to check my status since the admissions committee is meeting on the 29th? Anyone else thinking of doing the same?
I got a call today from Jonnie Hart notifying me of my acceptance...I interviewed early this semester and I am out of state (not from arkansas). Maybe they contact out of state first by phone to see if they will accept before they mail anything.
Yea thats what i thought too because everyone had been saying march 29th on here so when i got a 901 area code call i just let it ring through until there was a voicemail (i didnt have tennessee's number saved on my phone). it was Johnnie Hart saying they had a question in regard to my application. so i called back and she said that dr. coleman wanted to offer me a spot in the class and if i would accept. i said yes and she said she will mail out the paperwork. it could be that they are meeting tomorrow with the final list to have coleman sign the letters of acceptance...at any rate im sure mrs. hart will still make more calls...and i heard not everyone gets called anyway...generally its people they know may have another school lined up and want to make sure that TN is still their top choice before they send out a letter.
Did they mention when the offical packet was going to be mailed out? I understand the Dean is out until next week, but come on now. Just wondering. Congrats to all of you that are in!!
I'm in!!!!!! I had been licking my wounds about not getting in and giving in to the fact that getting in this year wasn't God's plan for me. About the time I accepted the fact, I got the call!
