My wife and I will be attending dental school in Houston this upcoming fall and we are currently looking at housing. Unfortunately, we live in Idaho and won't be free to move until the end of July and so we are heavily relying on the internet to find places to live. Anybody currently attending Houston or is from that area, any advice on good complexes within 10 minutes of the school? We are looking for 2 bedrooms with a pool preferably.

Any help would be fantastic 🙂

UT Housing is very affordable with a pool, rec center, and stuff for around $1000/mo. Only downside is no pets allowed because maintenance comes in every now and then to work on stuff. There's a lot of apartment complexes for around $1100-1300/mo -- Lincoln, Almeda, etc. There's also independently owned condos like the Med Center Condos, FontainBleu, One Montreal Place, Montreal Place, which are equally affordable. You would have to go through an agent for these. Most people live in housing and the other portion live in condos. Many of my classmates moved out of the apartments and moved to condos or housing mostly because they're expensive and it's a long walk (15 min or so).

I would definitely recommend Housing. I keep hearing very good things based on price and proximity to the school.
