how many got the "you have been placed in the alternate pool" letter? Any insights into how many get those each year ? all the rest 38?

And anyone who decided not to go to UT after being accepted?😀

Did you recive this letter yourself? if you did when and how?
 
dr bonenkanmp told us that if u r called for interview u are automatically in alternate pool
 
Received this letter yesterday.. Snail mail... the letter was dated 20th december..so the rest of us must be receiving similar ones shortly..

Please update thread when you do..
 
Hi I also received a similar letter dated 20th Dec. Any idea how many r on the list??
 
Hello everyone,

If you all would please post where you graduated from and your nationality.
So far those that got an acceptance are mostly Dr's. from India and those that got this letter are also from India. As far as I know UTHSCSA won't take all students from the same country.
rdhfldmd is from Philippines and the rest are from India, who got an acceptance so far. So this letter does not sound too good unless some of these students from India decided not to go to UTHSCSA. Please everyone lets help each other and post your stats and also where you are from.

Hi all. I have a question, what program are you applying to at UTHSCSA? Is it an advanced standing program??

I tried calling Barbara to find out how many people r there on the list .......but no luc..........

Did you call Mrs Barbara to see how many are there in this list .
I don't know why no one post any thing here like others who applied to other schools
it looks like no one wants to share any info . come on guys sharing information at this stage wont hurt any one.
 
I dint call, but mailed barbara 12/28/07... no reply yet..will update if she mails back.. i guess the prompt replies were only until the acceptances.... or maybe they are still on holiday? ?

so now theres 4 ppl that we know of?

Yes i did. But she didnt give me a reply. She said she didnt have the list which is funny considering she is the one who sends out mails.............😕
 
ok...so anyway that establishes there is actually a list..and that all of the interviewd candidates are not automatically placed in alternate pool..

But not worth much..for just 10 seats they already have 5 alternates (that we know of) Guess its good luck to all of us next year...👍
 
I just found out i am in the alternate pool list as well.
so do u guys think they already have send all the acceptance letters?
I am kind of confused about this alternate list .
Some one tell me how this list usually work.
 
Barbara sent us an email about other candidates' email addresses (those who were accepted) so we can get in touch with each other before school starts and when I counted...there were already 10 of us in the list. Two of them did not give their email addresses and only 6 of us are in UT class 2010 web group. I'm not sure if the other 4 candidates who are not in the webgroup are committed to the program. If for some reason they back out or decline acceptance, then that's when Barbara starts calling people in the alternate pool list so they can fill the available slots. I'll fill you in if anything comes up.

So you are saying that 10 student already got an acceptance and you saw the names.
but iam kind of confused about 4 student out of 10 that you are not sure which they are committed to the program or not . can you please verify and be a bit more clear .

Did any of you guys complete the alternate pool form and mailed it to Mrs sturm. If you did so when was the dead line?
 
I just got an email from Barbara saying that she already mailed out an information packet requesting immunization forms,etc...
She emailed all 10 candidates. I think it means all 10 are pretty much committed to the program.

sorry to confuse you. Disregard what I said earlier about the 4 out of 10 people who I'm not sure if they're committed to the program or not. As of today, I'm assuming that all 10 have confirmed admittance to the program because we're all being asked for Immunization records and laptop orders.

So I believe we have come to the end of our road for this year's UTHSCSA admissions.. Good luck (I mean better luck) to the rest of us for next year...congrats again to the "chosen 10"👍
