Hey guys, I was thinking of applying to the UToledo Medstart program as a junior in college right now. However, I want to ask you guys if my stats are strong enough to apply and if there is a chance I could get in as I don't want to waste my time writing the essays or my money as the application fee is a hundred bucks. Thank you for all of your help!
GPA: 4.0
SAT: 1400
ACT: 32
I have taken a lot of higher-up science classes as a biochem major. At this point, I have 150 hours of volunteering at a hospital. I have shadowed an OBGYN, optometrist, and family doctor each for 40ish hours. I am also going to continue to volunteer and shadow physicians. I got my medical assistant license as well but have not worked as one yet as most of them are full-time (am currently looking for per diem ones that work with my school schedule). I also work as a tutor for international students at my university. I joined a couple of pre-med and science clubs, and have been a freshman rep of the Biochemistry Club and Event Coordinator of the MSA club. Thanks again!
