Hey friends, anyone else apply to the MedStart UToledo program this year? Not a fan of how it has been going so far.

Yes, I applied! I am originally from Northwest Ohio and love UT! Praying for an interview!

Hi has anyone got any updates? I heard last year people got notified on Oct 29th.

Me neither, and someone on SDN said they've been sent out to the MedStart students, so I'm just like :I

Hey all, I applied to MedStart, just wanted to check if anyone has heard anything yet.

Hey all, anyone able to get any of the January interview slots? I have been checking today but haven’t seen any.

I thought that decisions were supposed to be released in Feb, I'm slightly concerned lol

I interviewed back in December and they told us not to expect a decision until March. Hopefully we’ll hear something in the next week or two.

Yeah their site says March 1 but I think I remember them saying 1st or 2nd week of March. We shall see.

Traditionally invitations are given out only on Wednesdays in previous years, so we must watch for them today or next Wednesday.

No not yet! Today is historically the day, but I’m getting worried as the day is wearing on!
Yeah same :///. Did you or anyone else try reaching out to the admissions office yet to see when they will get back to us by?

I am too much of a chicken to ask, it would be a miracle if someone did 😅😂

I have written from the interview “By end of March”

Hey, I'm a student planning on applying next year. Do they send out interview invites on the same day after reviewing all applications or do early applicants get earlier interview spots? Hoping to apply around September since my application would be stronger then.

I don't think it matters when you apply

Me too… I’m so anxious to get admission decisions but at the same time I’ll be surprised if they release this week since it’s Match Week for the 4th years. Praying they release today regardless!

If it isn’t today, it’ll be next week or the week after!

I'm telling y'all if the decisions don't come out after tomorrow, they are gonna run out of Wednesdays pretty soon!!
What do you think the chances are that the decisions are released in April? (Worst case I realize, but just wondering)

I mean April is not supposed to be on the table at all. She said that decisions would definitely, certainly be released by the “end of March.” To release all the way in April would be historically unheard of in terms of Medstart decisions (always released by end of February or early March). Plus, the whole point is to give an early chance, so if people are already starting their app cycle, they know it would defeat the whole purpose of the “early” timeline. On top of that, the med student ambassadors said that there is an in-person orientation on April 1st or 2nd. If OOS people have the possibility of acceptance, they would need time to buy plane tickets and arrange travel and lodging, which is very hard to do last minute. I just don’t see how the timeline could be feasibly elongated any more than it actually is, but I guess this wait has broken a historical record too, so I can’t say for sure. What are your thoughts on my theories?

I have no thoughts except for that I really hope the decisions come out this week and I really hope we all get in

Haven’t heard a thing. My best guess based on pretty much nothing (i found out about interview on a Thursday and in the forum from the other year they found out on a Thursday, time is from the interview) is today or tomorrow at 11:30 EST.

What if they just never get back to us at all? Or completely forget until like September and then realize we were still waiting 😅
