UTSD-best way to find roommate?

Hi all,
I will be attending UTSD this fall and I am interested in the UT Housing apartments. No one seems to be posting in the class of 2020 page for roommates lol ..however if anyone can offer some advice on generally the whole rooming situation for first years', that'd be great!

Is it common to be alone for the first year? Is the "welcome weekend" generally an event when people ask around for roommates? How does one do this? Thanks ya'll!

UTSD ASDA will be hosting an apartment tour in April so you can look for roommates at that time.
