I've been fortunately accepted to UTSD (as an OOS) and was offered in-state tuition.
I had a great impression of the school atmosphere and faculty/students seemed very kind, but I don't know much about how strong the school is clinically.

Specializing is something in mind as well. Any input from those who are interested in specializing about your experience so far?

Anything about the school and your experience would be much appreciated 🙂 Thanks!

I also interviewed and was accepted to UTSD, but as an in-state applicant. I remember asking about clinicals during my interview, and I think it's pretty solid. They start seeing patients by the 2nd semester of their 2nd year, and a student told me they have a constant flow of patients coming in so there usually isn't much difficulty in fulfilling clinical requirements. I'm not too sure about the clinical requirements though.

With the specialties, you can freely shadow or assist in the specialty clinics starting your first year there! I think you can definitely specialize at UTSD if you put in the work during dental school.

Although I'm not attending UTSD due to wanting to stay close to family, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience there. Everyone seemed happy. There was a nice family and collaborative vibe to the place and facilities are so modern!

I think any of the three Texas schools are fairly strong clinically. However, Texas A&M was the strongest by far.

What makes TAMU stronger clinically?
