Does anyone know when UVM will be making their decisions for the latest round of interviewees? When I was there, we were told before the first of the year, but I figure the university is likely closed between Christmas and New Year's (mine is)- so does that mean they'll do it by the end of this week?

(By the way, I just emailed Mary and asked essentially the same question, but if anyone already has an answer, I'd like to know.)

I would love to know this as well..

I interviewed mid Nov.

hopefully I find out before the year is over...

Just checked the UVM website. They're only closed the 24th, 25th, and 31st. So I guess that means next week is still possible for decisions. Oh well, one more week won't kill me. I'll still post whatever response I get to my email.

I interviewed last week. They said that we would be the last group of applicants considered in this upcoming batch, and that if all went well, decisions would be posted online before the 24th.

are they posted on online applicant center? Mine just says thank you for interview.....and so on...

Yes, when they make decisions they post the decision on your status page. And if it's an acceptance, I believe you also get an email. :luck:

I'm not sure about everyone else, but I didn't get an email from them about my acceptance - it was just posted on my webpage. So, just make sure to keep checking that page every once in awhile :luck:

I checked the status page, and it has changed!!!

now that my file has been reviewed by the adcom,,

how long do I have to wait to find out? ...

I could absolutely be wrong, but my recollection is that I waited about 10-14 days or so (you could probably do a search and find the other UVM thread where we were all anticipating the change). But regardless, the wait time probably varies. Your best bet is to call and ask them when they believe they will be posting decisions. :luck:

hmmm. i interviewed in mid-nov and my status page still hasn't changed to reviewed, just to the will be reviewed shortly.

Has anyone called the office today and see when they are posting decisions?

My status page also still says I "will now be reviewed". I called the day before yesterday and left a message which hasn't been returned yet. Probably very busy in Burlington... If anyone does speak to admissions I'd also love an update.

That's what I have now as well... great... now I'm going to be neurotic. It really is a great school. I'm hoping for the best.

Well, I still haven't gotten a reply to my first email to Mary. Judging by how quickly they replied the last couple times I emailed them, I'm guessing they really are quite busy, and hopefully... that that means they're busy posting decisions.

"Dear Punkass:

Your file has been reviewed by the Admissions Committee. We will be contacting you shortly regarding the status of your application.

Last updated on 12/21/2007"

Anyone else gotten this on their status page? I interviewed 12/11.

I am nervous.

I'm nervous too- I've been checking this thread, my email, and that status page obsessively since yesterday. I've got myself convinced decisions will be up today (I'm sure they won't be...), but so far my status has remained the same since the day I interviewed: "Your file will be reviewed..."

Anyone bold enough to call them yet after the change in the status?

Phoenix did last month. They told her they won't reveal decisions over the phone. If what is happening now is the same as around Thanksgiving, you are now just waiting for them to upload the decisions to the AAMC website first. After they are down with that, they will update the status page with your decision. Hopefully it won't take too long, but there was some wierd delay last time.

Yeah, they told me I was waitlisted because I called and bugged them about it.

Har. Just joking. Good luck guys! :luck:

Within the last hour my status changed to "Your file has been reviewed by the Admissions Committee. We will be contacting you shortly regarding the status of your application." I guess I'm in the same boat as everyone else now...

Mine just changed to that too. Screw this nonsense. I'm going home and starting the holiday drinking early (...of course, I'm more than aware I'll be back on SDN later tonight... just let me in already!).

From the admissions website:
Office Hours: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday

After 4:30, and still no love from UVM 🙁
Good luck to everyone!

Just curious now that it's 10:00 and the day's done... did anyone hear from UVM today about a decision? I know that lots of people had their status change, but did anyone actually find out a decision from them? Just curious/anxious...

I got the message too. Once I find out the results, I will defintely update everyone, and please do the same for us.

Did any of those people who were already accepted to UVM have the status of "your application has been reviewed and a decision will be sent to you shortly" (or whatever the exact words are, see above)? Does this same message appear for all applicants or is this the message you get only if you are going to be rejected or waitlisted?

Do they ever reject anyone post-interview? or is everyone waitlisted?

Has anyone gotten off the waitlist after the 27th?

After few talks with them, those are the speculations of the neurotic me:

It seems they have different levels of acceptances.
Some people are accepted right away, those will be waitlisted for a really short time then they will be offered an acceptance.
Other people are accepted on condition that they show lots of interest. Those will need to send few letters of interest/intent maybe.

The rest will never get off the current waitlist even if they show lots of interest and will be ranked on the 15th of May waitlist which will be divided to upper, middle and lower.

that sounds about right.

what is ridiculous about getting their waitlist is you dont know whether you will be accepted 1-2 weeks later, 4-5 months later, or not at all. :scared:

Anyone heard anything? I was thinking about calling just so they could tell me that I wouldn't hear until the new year, so I could stop thinking about it. Has anyone done that yet?

no news? nothing yet?

Same old message...
A decision has been made, but we want you to suffer just a little bit more.

Mine too. Maybe instead of just saying a decision has been made, they'd be so kind as to tell us what that decision is? Just a thought.

I just tried calling and got a message that said the office was closed until Jan 2, so probably no news until then.

I guess I can stop checking multiple times a day... It seems common for admissions committees to be unable to process applications as quickly as they hoped, but it's still frustrating. 🙁

Not today, they will need some time. I talked to Pat and she said they have been off and that it will be a while before they update anything.

Thanks for the update M.Furfur. It's not what I was hoping to hear, but understandable given the vacation...

I’m waitlisted, but I guess it could be worse…

I heard a lot of people get waitlisted first then get off the list. so there is a good chance..btw how did you find out you got waitlisted?

waitlisted as well, probably withdrawing

Also waitlisted...anyone know turn around time on them changing their minds?

there is no way to know for sure so don't beat yourself up.
I was waitlited on 11/19, there seemed to be a group of people who were accepted off the waitlist 8 days later (not me 🙁 ) ...

since then haven't heard anything. Their system is odd in that most school's waitlists won't move until May 15 but UVM seems to move a little randomly.

Bottom Line: You may wait 1 week, 1 month, or 6 months - nobody knows. So find something to keep yourself busy instead of stressing 🙂 (for me, it's watching all 3 seasons of prison break 😛)

It sounds like ladude626 was accepted after 8 days, but I don't think that's the norm. In the past people have still been accepted during the weeks before orientation.
