Hi,

Having done about 50% of UW for step2, I'm finding myself constantly resisting the urge to destroy my computer. So far, I've taken it out on my poor mouse, which is by now, no doubt, deep inside the local garbage dump. Anyone else share these feelings?

Please write so I know I'm not going crazy all alone here.

i dont understand, why do u want to destroy your computer? some of the questions are stupid...you can tell when there are 5 answer choices and only 20% get the question right...but most of the questions are good.

hmm, I've thought of several scenarios:

1) you're just that much smarter than me
2) I've been hit with a disproportionate amount of those 20% questions early on
3) come on, you haven't been frustrated at all doing UW? I'd like to call you a liar, but I don't know you that well.

I wouldnt pay too much attention to the percentages of what people got right because i could do a question asking about encapsulated organisms in a sickler 46% right...then come across some bs gene question about what type of mutation is in the cftr gene (mis-sense, nonsense, deletion) and 70% get it right...give me a friggen break.

ill tell you what does piss me off.....all of the friggen guidelines for lymes disease...**** OFF...amoxicillin for pregnant...then amox for < 9...then cefuroxime for this...and this for that...just **** OFF already with your lymes disease. i hope the person who wrote the question gets lyme disease and takes the wrong antibiotic.

no no no...you're definitely not the only one. i'm using it to study for my medicine shelf, and it's rather discouraging. as just another neurotic medical student, i find it impossible to ignore the % of people getting it right.
+pissed+
i mean, c'mon. i can't be *that* stupid.

awesome!

I feel your pain. I've found the rheumatology questions to be absolutely confusing with contradicting lab values, but the more questions you do the better you will do. It took me about 500 questions to start improving. I had one question where 14% actually picked the right answer, which tells me that the question is misleading. Even if everyone just guessed you would think the average would be higher.

I had two awful questions in the same 46 question block. Both had A-E answer choices.

the first one 8% got correct
the other one only 11%

. . . they were both OB questions. go figure 🙄

How much easier would life be if people just stopped hiking in Connecticut?
