and I am banning it henceforth. The level of minutia that they put in those questions is so ridiculous to the point that it has me hemming and hawing about questions from other sources that are meant to be easy. Vague questions like "what would be the next most likely step in the treatment of this condition" followed by 5 choices that are all reasonable steps in management of a condition, then telling me why four are wrong because they are all contraindicated due to the fact that the patient once ate a double-bacon cheeseburger is driving me insane. Who writes these questions? I can guarantee there is no physician writing them... no one that has ever had to study for and take Step 2 would ever be so cruel as to write questions as bizarre and demoralizing as these. My working theory is that the question bank was created by a group of obsessive and disturbed, failed med school applicants. This is their retribution; they get us to pay them to torture us.

And I will tell you this: the "MedFriends" are no friends of mine. How dare they try to equivocate the results from that pile of garbage to the actual test. Probably the same twisted and evil little masterminds behind UW.

I will now return to my question sets.

i thought some UW questions were crazy too and that the real step 2 would be much better. step 2 turned out to have its fair share of crazy questions though. looking back, UW was great prep.

The more I look back on it the more I want my money back from UW. I studied my a$$ off in 3rd year, that is what got me my StepII score. UW basically kept me in front of a PC 2 weeks. The q's are down right terrible and when the answers are right (~75%) the explanations aren't any more high yield than FA (which is pretty lame). If someone came to me with a decent record as an MS3, good shelf scores and no hang ups with test taking I'd tell them to skip UW altogether.

If you think 25% of their questions had incorrect answers, the problem might not be with UW.

I thought UW was great....it gives us some blunt trauma though...but nevertheless it prepares us to approach some crazy questions on the actual exam..so definitely recommend it...it is not really the actual questions that we are after for...isn it? I think its the pattern of question that UW is trying to prepare us and what to high light on our text reviewers....
