Hi All,

I will be applying to UW-Madison next year and I would really like to get in. I was hoping those of you who got accepted, if you wouldn't mind sharing your stats as in ur PCAT composite and GPA, I can assess my chances. Ofcourse I realize that other factors come into play as well...As for me I am yet to give my PCAT in June and my GPA:

Undergrad: 3.67 overall and science GPA: 3.8
Graduate: 3.9

Thanks for any input!

Hey!
its exciting that you are applying for next year! Good for you. I'm currently, a first year student so my statistics are out of date but my classes info is located online at: http://www.pharmacy.wisc.edu/admissions/pharmd/statistics.cfm.

My individual statistics are as follows:

No Bachelor Degree
Wisconsin resident
Cum GPA: 3.67
science GPA: 3.5
PCAT score: 58
little pharmacy experience and an exceptional list of extra curricular activities and volunteer work as well as letters of recommendation.
Please note that Madison also looks for well round students and praises itself on not just academics. I know many students with higher PCAT scores and GPAs than mine that didn't get. (The intention of that comment wasn't to scare but just to explain how I got accepted with sub-par academic qualifications). I really do hope this helps and if you have any questions feel free to ask. Good luck on the PCAT and the application process, I know it can be grueling.

Well, I just got my acceptance for this fall, and as you stated in your original post, there are many factors that come into play, but I will give you my stats for another point of reference:

Wisconsin resident
undergrad GPA 3.85 (don't have my science GPA calculated)
graduate GPA 4.0
PCAT 96
Several years of working in drug development after graduate school, but no pharmacy experience per se. Pretty good history of volunteering/extracurriculars.

I will note that I was questioned fairly in depth regarding why I wanted to go back to school and "switch" fields of work, so if that is the case for you as well (seeing that you noted graduate work), be sure that you can make a strong case for why you really want to do pharmacy (I was told by admissions that they are sometimes leery of people with advanced degrees coming into the PharmD program because they have a higher rate of leaving if a good job offer comes through...).

Good luck to you though!
