Hey everyone, I'm looking for someone who is going/gone through the UW Madison Physical Therapy program, is accepted, or otherwise has knowledge about the program. I am a 3rd year undergraduate Athletic Training major at Concordia University Wisconsin who is looking at UW Madison as one of my primary schools for PT. I have heard that they seem to focus on extra curricular activities or experience more than other schools and was looking for some insight on this. Any advice on how to work on building up my resume/application would be great!
Some Stats:
Overall GPA: 4.00
Prereq GPA: 4.00
GRE: haven't taken it yet, in the works
Over 500 hours doing clinicals as an AT student, variety of sports/ settings
Been observing in an outpatient clinic (>20hrs) looking for contacts in SE Wisconsin for neuro, sports or other PT observation
Active in Pre- PT and Sports Med clubs
Volunteer at Special Olympics
Worked with PT in past to develop prehab/strengthening programs for local HS athetes
Participated on college Wrestling team for 1 year
I'm also hoping to find a job as a PT aide over next summer and/or do an internship.
