I've tried several times to contact UW to find out about this, but have yet to receive a response. Anyway, UW requires 2 quarters of microbiology for admissions into their program. I have taken one quarter of general microbiology and need to take a second quarter. Does anyone know what courses would fullfill this requirement? Would something like immunology or molecular biology count towards this requirement?

"2 quarters microbiology UW MICROM 301 and 410 are recommended; MICROM 412 and 442 are also acceptable"

http://www.washington.edu/students/ugrad/advising/predent.html

MICROM 301 General Microbiology (3)
Acquaints students with microorganisms and their activities. Topics include microbial cell structure and function, metabolism, microbial genetics, and the role of microorganisms in disease, immunity, and other selected applied areas

MICROM 410 Fundamentals of General Microbiology I (3)
Survey of the microbial world, metabolism, biosynthesis, regulation, growth, structure, and function. Required for students majoring in microbiology; recommended for students majoring in biology.

MICROM 412 Fundamentals of General Microbiology III (3)
Structure, biochemical properties, and genetics of the major groups of prokaryotes

MICROM 442 Medical Bacteriology (3)
Medically important bacterial pathogens are discussed in terms of the clinical, therapeutic, and epidemiological aspects of diseases caused by them, molecular mechanisms of pathogenesis and their identification in the clinical laboratory

Hope that helps

Unfortunately I don't go to UW so I don't have access to those exact courses. I guess I'll probably just have to wait for UW to get back to me for what options I have. Thanks.

I was able to get waived for the requirement: I took the Micro 410 and 402 (see courses as described by UW09). The 402 is a lab class and does not fulfull the requirement. I did however, have 6 credits of Micro 499. I emailed the admissions office with a detailed description of my research and was waived from the second lecture class.
